Last night I received initial feedback on my Plan B paper. I was astounded by the Dr. Heck's positive reception of it ... and all of his gracious words! I am confident that the "success" of the paper was, in part, due to taking this class while in the final stages of writing and editing. Having this class keep me focused on structure and and purpose has been so valuable while refining my Plan B. Every week after class, I would go home and pull out my Plan B to look at it with a discerning eye and a fresh perspective. I know that the sequencing of this course is not ideal in the last semester of the EDEA curriculum, but it has bee SOOOO helpful to me. I think that as students get bogged down in the research and content of their thesis/plan B, they tend to lose sight of how to construct a strong product, 604 forces you to keep focused on the construction, as well as the relevancy of the content.
Thank you, Chris, for helping to keep this information relevant and useful on a daily basis. 604 has also reinforced my interest in qualitative research ... I definitely have some ideas brewing of studies that I'd like to pursue in the new year as a SA practitioner for publication within my field. In my opinion, 604 achieved it's objective ... I am definitely a passionate convert and believer in qualitative research.
